DAY 1

Welcome to Perú! (-)

International flight arrival to Lima & Transfer to your hotel

Once you arrive to the international Lima’s airport, look for your Auri Travel representative holding a sign with your name on it! You may be a bit tired after your long flight, so we’ll save you the stress of trying to navigate and bring you straight to your hotel where you can shake off that icky flight feeling with a shower and a sleep. Enjoy a peaceful night’s rest.

DAY 2

Exploring Lima “The City of the Kings” (B)

Explore the Limeñan iconic sites, home of the superfoods, museums, and the most historic Peruvian places.

Free morning to spend the time at your own leisure. This afternoon, your expert guide will pick you up from your hotel to start a sightseeing tour around colonial and modern Lima. The first stop will be Huaca Pucllana which was an administrative and ceremonial Pre-Incan building. During this tour, you will visit the Cathedral of Lima, the catacombs of the Monastery of San Francisco, the main square, the National Congress, and the Palace of Torre Tagle.

Finally, we will go to the more modern districts of San Isidro and Miraflores where you can enjoy unbeatable views of the Pacific Ocean.

After a 4-hour tour, you will be dropped to Kennedy Park in Miraflores where you might like to enjoy a delicious dinner in some of the world-renowned restaurants, we can make a reservation in advance for you, just let us know!

DAY 3

Flight to Cusco & Transfer to the Sacred Valley (B, L)

Start your adventure at the gorgeous and serene landscapes that the Sacred Valley offers.

This morning, pick up from your hotel to escort you to the airport to take your flight to Cusco. Once you arrive at the Andean Cusco Airport, your private guide will pick you up to start your adventure in the Sacred Valley. Our first stop will be Awanacancha “Living Museum”, where you will learn about the weaving process and you will come face-to-face with the lovely South American camelids, including alpacas, guanacos, vicuñas… you can feed them too!

Your journey will take you to Pisaq traditional market, which is famous for its beautiful handicrafts that delight thousands of visitors every year. Textiles, vegetables, and silver jewelry are just some of the items that are sold here.

Then, delight yourself with a savory lunch featuring the most delicious Peruvian dishes.

Our next stop will be Pisaq ruins, we will explore some Incan archaeological sites, including ornate palaces and temples, and magnificent agricultural terraces on the mountains. This was one of the major agricultural centers of the Incan Empire and is one of the most beautiful towns of the Sacred Valley. From this point, you will see the modern-day Quechua people continue to farm and the verdant farmland where the Incas once cultivated their crops.

At the end of the tour, your guide will leave you in your hotel located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas to spend a peaceful night rest.

*Eco-friendly tip: Plastic bags can take up to 500 years to biodegrade so take a re-useable shopping bag with you when you go to local markets as Pisaq.

DAY 4

Go Kayaking Through Piuray’s Pristine Waters & Ceramic Workshop (B, L)

Delight yourself with the Andean Mountains, glaciers and snow peaks surrounding the Piuray Lake

Enjoy a relaxing time in the Piuray Lagoon. Continue your Peruvian Family Trip with some arts and adventure. This morning, you will be escorted to the shores of Lake Piuray, where your expert guide will give you a safety briefing and instructions on kayaking. Climb aboard your kayak and paddle through pristine and quiet waters while enjoying the local flora and fauna.

Then, delight yourself with a delicious picnic lunch tasting the most delicious local flavors.

We understand that children prefer fun and active activities, so we arrange for interactive, hands-on activities as part of our Peru family tours. This afternoon, enjoy a private workshop in the town of Urubamba and make your own ceramic piece as part of a master class Marvel yourself learning a bit more about the ceramic’s traditions of Peru.

DAY 5

Scenic Train Through the Cloud Forest and Visit the Ancient Machu Picchu Citadel! (B, L)

Take the stunning train to Aguas Calientes and Guided visit to Machu Picchu!

Prepare for a climatic day! This morning after a savory breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to the train station to board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes. Enjoy 1 ½ hour through the lovely lush vegetation along the way. At your arrival, we will assist you to take your bus up to Machu Picchu. Perched at 7,970 feet above sea level and 1,240 feet above the Urubamba river in the Sacred Valley, discover this hidden area that was covered by mountains and semi-tropical jungles for almost 400 years.

Immerse yourself in-depth 2-hour tour, your private guide will show you the mysteries and magic of Machu Picchu by visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sundial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of Three Windows and some other cemeteries. Afterward you will have plenty of free time to take pictures, explore, and enjoy the panoramic view from the plateau of the iconic Ancient Citadel.

Make your way to Aguas Calientes by bus and enjoy a peaceful night rest with the sound of the cloud forest around you.

DAY 6

Explore Machu Picchu ay your own Peace & Train Back to the Sacred Valley (B)

Machu Picchu will take your breath away with its enigmatic and historical atmosphere.

Today, explore at your own peace the majestic Machu Picchu Wonder. Watch the mist rise off the mountains and the sunrise illuminate the Ancient Citadel. Truly, this amazing spectacle it is worth it.

Feeling adventurous? If so, we recommend you to hike to the Inti Punku (the Sun Gate Hike) or the Inca Bridge Hike (both 40 minutes). Alternatively, you can climb the spectacular Wayna Picchu Mountain which takes almost 2 hours (you need to book a permit in advance for this).

After finishing your visit to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, make your way back to Aguas Calientes by bus. Then, board the return train to Ollantaytambo. We will be waiting for you at the train station and bring you to your hotel in Cusco for a well-deserved good night’s rest.

*** This day you will have the chance to climb up the Huayna Picchu Mountain. Delight yourself with the most beautiful views of the Ancient Citadel. Please, consider that it is necessary to book entrance tickets in advance, due that we are subject to availability.

DAY 7

Free Morning & Cusco Private City Tour (B)

Explore the enigmatic Capital of the Inca Empire with your expert guide!

Spend the morning soaking up the mystery of the Capital of the Inca Empire at your own peace.

This afternoon, your expert guide will pick you up from your hotel to start your tour. Discover mysterious alleyways, emblematic squares, and covered treasures of Cusco with your private guide. The first visit will be Sacsayhuaman fortress. The next stop will be the temple of Q’enko and the red fortress of Puca Pucara. The last visit will be Tambomachay before coming back to the city to visit the famous Plaza de Armas and Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun).

Later, spend a quiet evening at your hotel.

DAY 8

Free Morning & Chocolate Worshop (B)

Morning at leisure and spend the afternoon in a chocolate workshop!

This morning, spend a peaceful time at your hotel or exploring Cusco at your own way.

Amazing trip of a lifetime in Peru carefully curated by Auri Peri Travel Oustanding experience with Lizbeth at Auri Peri Travel. It truly was a carefully curated family trip of a lifetime and one that I would highly recommend. We stayed in Belmond hotels throughout Peru and they were amazing. Highly highly recommend staying at the Belmond at the top of Machu Picchu. After hiking 16km to the summit, this hotel was a welcome refuge and allowed us to break up the hike and the tour around Machu Picchu into 2 days. It is a very small hotel so book early. The only part of the trip I would not recommend was the last 3 nights we spent on the "Pure Amazon" boat. It was not worth the lengthy travel to and from and also was not a good financial value. There was nothing much to see. The boat is beautiful and we met another family that made the time onboard fun but other than that not something I would recommend.
